My PSA went up from 3.2 ng/ml to 3.7 ng/ml in one year and GP ordered a biopsy in August 2006.

I was informed in September that 4 out of 11 cores contain cancer, 3% involvement on right lobe, 2% on left lobe. I opted for radical prostatectomy (nerve sparing), which was performed in November 2006 at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket, RI. (Foley bag for 11 days, 3 pads a day for a month, 2 pads a day for a couple of months, 1 pad a day for about 3 months, no pads after 5 1/2 months. At 6 months still impotent)

The post-operative pathology showed: Stage T2c, Gleason 6, 3+3, Right apical margin focally positive. The urologist suggested I see a radiologist, and I did so in December 2006. He ordered a CT scan for Janaury 2007.

A small mass (1.5 cm) is discovered on my right kidney. After second opinion we decided on a partial nephectomy (removal of a portion of the kidney), hand assisted laparoscopic surgery performed at RI Hospital, Providence, RI 3/07. That post-op pathology also showed positive margins, we'll keep a close watch and I may have to have a total nephectomy in the future.

Begin radiation treatments (IMRT) in the prostate bed end of April 2007 at North Main Radiology, Providence, RI. I'm scheduled to have 36 treatments (6,660 rads).

Had 36 treatments (6,660 gy), finished June 2007. After radiation stress incontinence returns, still impotent as of June 2008. PSA is 0.04 ng/ml.

Things have not changed at all. PSAs for the last year have been 0.03, still have stress incontinence, still have ED.

My radiologist told me before I had any treatments that whatever my incontinence level and ED were then, that's what it will be for perhaps the rest of my life. So far he's right. Let's hope that the PSA level stays locked in also.

Still everything remains the same as my last update other than my PSA fluctuating between 0.01 and 0.02.

Incontinence (one pad a day) and ED (about 75% erection without any aids) are the same as when I finished IMRT almost four years ago.

It's been over five years, no changes at all. PSA 0.02, still one pad a day, still have ED.

Over six years and counting. No change at all, 0.02, one pad a day, ED.

7-1/2 years and no changes other than switching labs, my PSA is now 0.01. Still one pad a day.

After mixed results taking pills for ED I now use Trimix with great results, I would highly recommend it.

Almost nine years and everything's the same. TriMix is a wonder drug, if anyone is leery of sticking themselves with a needle there's no need to worry, if you do feel it, it's just a little pinch (sometimes you feel nothing). The great thing is no stuffiness or blue vision that you get with pills and ten minutes after the injection you're good to go.

Same old story, no changes - 1 pad a day, TriMix, PSA 0.04. Just about 10 years.

Same old same old, no changes at all. Doctor told me a new method is being used for PSA detection and said my new number is >0.006 my old numbers for the past 11 years have been 0.02 - 0.04.

12 years, no changes. Life is good.

Thirteen years and counting. Leak a little more than in the past but for the most part one pad a day. I think it's because I'm not as active as I used to be. This year I hope to get out on my bike and do some long hard rides. Also had to up the dosage on Trimix from 25 cc to 30 cc.

16 years and counting, I seem to be on hold no changes from last update.

17+ years no changes, stress incontinace (one pad a day), impotence.
