Jerome Finnell and Elizabeth live in Idaho, USA. He was 66 when he was diagnosed in April, 2006. His initial PSA was 6.00 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6, and he was staged T1c. His initial treatment choice was Non-Invasive (Active Surveillance) and his current treatment choice is Other (). Here is his story.

I am newly diagnosed. My symptoms were poor urine stream and high PSA. I am leaning toward the laparoscopic prostatectomy but have concerns with incontinence being a permanent issue.

Thanks for allowing me in the fold.

Have found that my PCa is localized. Bad side of my CT scan was the location of an mid-abdominal aneurysm. So I may be leaning toward seeds.

More later. Well wishes to all.

Have decided to watch and wait. There doesn't seem to be any cure. So I can't seem to appreciate the option for poor life quality.

My PSA; went to 7.1 ng/ml but has been coming down to 5.3 ng/ml.

Best wishes to all of you out there.

Have not received any treatments. PSA is 6.0. Don't have insurance for medical care so don't have access to new avenues of coping with the cancer. Emotionally I'm fine. Continue to exercise moderately, eat well and get adequate sleep.

Good luck to all. Belonging to YANA helped me in my decision to wait and watch. Glad to respond to any questions you may have.

Hello. I will be 76 in June 2015. I chose to wait and watch. Diagnosis was in 2007. Been doing fine. Some urinary stream effects and ED. The latter due to age rather than the disease. Happy I didn't take treatments offered. Not afraid of dying but it comes at a inconvenient time. I wish all you folks well.

I feel I made the right treatment choice for me. Wait and see has served me well. I have been fortunate. No pain or bleeding. I'll turn 78 next week. Best to all. Jerome.

Prostate enlargement could be due to my age. I'll be 79 next month. PSA up 12 points in 10 - 11 yeas. I don't think that's too bad. Hope you all are doing well. Have a great year!

Hello, All! It has been 13 years since my dx. I've had no treatment. Been feeling well. Drink 2 glasses of tomato juice every day. unable to urinate on my own. Straight cath as needed. Urine is clear. Only pain is from arthritis, which is tolerable. PSA has slowly climbed to 20 last year. Most recent reading was 12. Have had luck with the wait and watch plan so will continue to follow it. Best to everyone.

Regards,

Jerome
