Sam Fullerton and Marcia live in Canada. He was 67 when he was diagnosed in November, 2002. His initial PSA was 7.50 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6, and he was staged T1c. His initial treatment choice was External Beam Radiation and his current treatment choice is External Beam Radiation (Proton Beam). Here is his story.

After the initial shock of being told I had cancer, I spent several weeks learning as much as I could from Don Cooley's website [regrettably Don has now closed his site] and library books. A second biopsy showed a Gleason Score of 3+4=7 so I chose radiation as treatment.

PSA in May/03 was 8.5
Treatment finished Oct/03
PSA in Oct/04 2.5
PSA Apr/06 0.93
PSA Apr/07 1.8
PSA Aug/07 1.3

Only side effects are minor blood in stool and some fatigue. Colonoscopy showed slight redness of colon near prostate. No polyps.
