THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2018 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

After my usual yearly check-up my Doctor said that my PSA had made a significant jump and that I should see a urologist. After a three month wait to see if the PSA would fall he decided to give me a biopsy.

I had a six needle biopsy and two specimens were found to be cancer. After reading all I could on the subject, second opinions and consults, I figured the best I could do for me was the Da Vinci operation. I went to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City and Dr. Stephenson did the operation on the 26th of August '06.

It came back that only 8% of the prostate had been involved and my PSA has remained at 0.01. I have no problem with incontinence but the ED has been a minor problem and getting better all the time.

I feel that I did the right thing and now getting on with my life.

At first I went to a checkup after three months and then told every six months. After the first six month checkup I was told every year now.

My PSA has remained undetectable at 0.10 and I have had complete urinary control from surgery on. I still have ED problems but getting better all the time.

Still convinced I did the right option for me with Robotic Surgery at The Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah with Doc. Stephenson.

I pray for all new Prostate victims to do the thing best for them and a speedy recovery with no recurrence.

It's been over four years and my health is great. The reason I went with the Robotic surgery is that I wanted it out so they could check it under the microscope to know for sure whether it was still encapsulated.

Aftereffects are; incontinence - not a problem, I can urinate like an 18 year old now. ED - yes but slowly coming around after four years. It still works.

Altogether I'm extremely happy with the results.

Just a quick update. It has been 6 years since diagnoses and I am still at .01 - .10 PSA (undetectable.) Life is good!

May 1 was my seven year anniversary of diagnosis. Other than the slight case of ed, everything is great! I'm 69 years old and having the time of my life.

After eight years since diagnoses and radical robotic surgery, all is well and life is very good.

I am still living the good life after 9 years and am thankful I had the operation to remove my prostate. Life is good and this month I'm celebrating my 50th wedding anniversary!

Nothing has changed in the 10 years sence I had my operation, other than this year I was diagnosed with a Stage 4 leiomyosarcoma in my chest and have been given 12 chemo treatments and will start 20 radiations in January. It has nothing to do with my Prostate cancer.
