THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2019 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.
I was diagnosed and recommended to have robotic survery. After extensive research on the computer, my wife and I decided on proton therapy at MD Anderson in Houston. It seemed to be the best choice with less side effects and relatively painless. The downside of proton was the expense (Medicare coverage paid for most all of it), length of treatment 5-1/2 weeks, 5 days a week, and the "balloon". I was able to stay with relatives in Houston and go home on weekends. Afterward I was cured and had no incontinence or sexual issues. I was very satisfied with the treatment and my doctors. All and all it was wasn't as bad as I anticipated. MDAnderson is the best place to go! I suffered from ED and used Viagra until 2 years ago, and then I had a penile implant. Everything has been good and it's still working. My problem is that I'm having some pretty intense pain in my groin area and sometimes behind my scrotum. So, I had to get the implant checked out, and it's all good. Now we're doing a CT scan as soon as it can be scheduled. My has any one else experienced any symptoms like this?
I'm doing fine. I am very pleased that I chose to go to MDANDERSON and received the Proton treatment. The proton therapy was relatively painless. The biggest con would be the amount of time, 6 weeks. There were few side effects.
